ABOUT THE BAR

The Bar is the student representative body of the School of Law (SOL).
With a vision to build an empowered student community, The Bar aims to enable students to make informed decisions in both their professional and academic pursuits. In serving the school community, The Bar seeks to increase the visibility of student-interest groups and enhance the vibrancy of student life in SMU Law. The Bar holds events (both social and professional-academic), and welfare drives for the student body. The Bar also serves as a voice for the student body in its ongoing engagement with the School of Law administration.
KEY EVENTS
The Bar’s flagship summer event, Law Camp, welcomes the incoming batch of freshmen with fun activities and bonding.
End-Sem Welfare provides an opportunity for everyone to get together for a night of relaxation and some good food before gearing up for the final exams.
During Halloween, The Bar hosts a Halloween dress-up competition.

LAW CAMP 2021
Law Camp is an orientation camp to welcome and help incoming Law freshmen integrate into SMU. The Bar has prepared a similarly fun-filled orientation for you - INITIO; LAW CAMP 2022!

INITIO is your chance to get to know your fellow freshmen and Yong Pung How School of Law seniors through an exciting line-up of games, chit-chat sessions and other fun activities. The event is structured around making new friends, and introducing you to what you can do to make the most of your law school experience at SMU!
