The Bar is the student representative body of the School of Law (SOL).
With a vision to build an empowered student community, The Bar aims to enable students to make informed decisions in both their professional and academic pursuits. In serving the school community, The Bar seeks to increase the visibility of student-interest groups and enhance the vibrancy of student life in SMU Law. The Bar holds events (both social and professional-academic), and welfare drives for the student body. The Bar also serves as a voice for the student body in its ongoing engagement with the School of Law administration.

CAMP KAIROS: LAW CAMP 2026
Beyond the gates of SMU Law lies Camp Kairos, where four elemental clans are summoned to restore order. Uncover the storyline of a fractured world by night and forge unbreakable bonds with your fellow batch mates through a series of thrilling adventures. Your law school journey begins at Camp Kairos – with courage, camaraderie, and a little bit of chaos…

LAW KICKSTARTER 2026
The Law Kickstarter is SMU Yong Pung How School of Law’s flagship professional and academic orientation programme for freshmen. It culminates in the inauguration of our freshmen into the legal fraternity and the taking of the crucial ethics pledge. For the first time in SMU’s history, Law Kickstarter will include the loved ones of our freshmen, alongside distinguished legal practitioners from across the industry. LAW MENTORSHIP 2026
Mentorship is one of SMU Yong Pung How School of Law’s flagship orientation initiatives for freshmen. The programme aims to connect freshmen with dedicated student mentors, ensuring a smooth transition into law school. This year, the Mentorship initiative will be expanded with more events throughout the semester, extending beyond the two traditional Well-Being Weekend events. LAW BASH — ROGUE 2026
Ready for some thrilling performances and stunning catwalks? Law Bash is SMU Yong Pung How School of Law’s annual summer night event where the faculty comes together to witness 16 freshmen bashees flaunt their talent, charm, and skill as they compete for the ‘Law King’ and ‘Law Queen’ titles. This year, Law Bash adopts the theme ‘Rogue’, which spotlights the individuality and non-conforming uniqueness of our bashees beyond law school.
