ABOUT ELLIPSIS
Ellipsis is the student representative body of the School of Computing & Information Systems (SCIS).
SCIS students embody the meaning of an ‘ellipsis' as they have unlimited potential, only limited by their imagination. Ellipsis seeks to serve our students via a three-pronged approach, namely through Academics, Professional Development and Student Life. On top of the key events such as SCIS Day that is organised to bring students and faculty members together, they also care for their students through the provision of welfare and career development opportunities such as networking sessions.
KEY EVENTS
Regular Welfare Drives provide SCIS students a reprieve from the hectic school life with goodies, such as delicious food and useful stationery.
SCIS Day is a time to give the entire SCIS community the opportunity to get away from their busy schedule through a plethora of activities and games that would give students the fun and fulfilling break they need.
Ellipsis Tech Series is a platform for students to learn more about technology used in the industry and engage with industry partners. The series consists of Breakout Sessions, Workshops and the Ellipsis Hackathon where SCIS students can interact with technology leaders in an informal setting and glean specialised technical skills to SMU undergraduates.

METAMORPHOSIS CAMP
Metamorphosis, the annual summer orientation camp organized in conjunction with Ellipsis, is designed to welcome incoming SCIS students and help integrate them into our community. Over the course of three days, participants engage in fun and interactive activities to learn about SMU's resources, explore the campus and its surroundings, and establish lasting relationships with like-minded peers.
Metamorphosis presents an excellent opportunity to acquaint oneself with SMU and gain valuable guidance and insights to enhance one’s experience of college life. This unforgettable weekend of learning, adventure, and new friendships is not to be missed.
This year, Metamorphosis will take place physically in two runs:
Run 1: 18 - 20 July 2023
Run 2: 03 - 05 August 2023
